What advice would you give to people considering a career in teaching?
Make sure the students know that you want to teach and that you are there for them. Know that all children learn in many ways, so teaching one student one way may not be helpful to another student. Be flexible and caring so you can reach the wonderful variety of individuals you have the privilege to teach. Also, make sure your students know there are rules and boundaries, and even though you are there for them, you are still the adult. Also know that you have other teachers, as well as administrators who are there to help you in the times that you may need help. Believe me, there will be those times.
What's the best thing about teaching?
The best thing about teaching are the children. There isn't a better feeling in the world to see the "light bulb" go off, the smile come to their face, and the joy you see because they realize they can learn when they didn't think they could. Remember, children are our future, be an
important part of that.
