California Career Resource Network (CalCRN)

The CalCRN program provides career development resources, and training materials to middle school and high school students, counselors, educators, and administrators.

The CalCRN's mission is to provide all persons in California with career development information and resources to empower them to reach their career goals.

Its primary duty is to distribute career information, resources, and training materials to middle school and high school counselors, educators, and administrators to ensure that middle and high schools have the necessary information available to guide and instruct students on the education and requirements necessary for career development. The CalCRN resources shall:

  1. Encourage students to complete secondary education.

  2. Provide career exploration tools including an introduction to the nature of career planning, self-assessment, methods of investigating the work world, methods of identifying and meeting education and training needs, and methods of creating a career action plan.

  3. Assist students in acquiring and developing career competencies including the appropriate skills, attitudes, and knowledge.

  4. Provide information about the labor market and career opportunities.
