Teaching is an incredibly challenging and rewarding career. If you want to make a difference in your community and are passionate about empowering children through education, then teaching is the best career. I love being a part of my students' education journey in high school and supporting them as they begin to learn how to lead self-determined lives.

I think the best thing about teaching is the opportunity to engage, empower, and support students and families in developing the skills and knowledge to become active members of the community. As a special education teacher for students with autism, I love seeing my students growth in self-advocacy and communication. I also am so excited to have the opportunity to increase inclusive opportunities at my school and to have my students be full members of the campus community in taking classes such as biology, U.S. History, Civics, Human Body Systems, Spanish, Chinese, Integrated Math, Digital Media, Computer Animation, Ceramics, band, physical education, and more. I love watching my students learn something new!
