What advice would you give to people considering a career in teaching?
Be human, it is OK to let the students know that you make mistakes and that you do not know everything. Have fun, if you would not enjoy completing the assignment chances are your students will not enjoy it either. If you show how much you love what you do and what you teach, your students will be more excited about your class. Most importantly, keep your own priorities straight, I am careful about what work I actually take home with me so that school work does not interfere with my family time.
What's the best thing about teaching?
It sounds so cliched, but I love having a positive impact on the lives of my students. Seeing students that I have know for years graduate is always a great feeling.
