New teachers must not only learn their subject matter, they must also learn the best methods in which to teach it. These methods cannot be learned solely in college, for you must observe, study and apply different techniques regularly. You must have a constant desire and willingness to learn. Above all, you must be willing to try again, and again, and again, to reach every student in your class regardless of any label that may have been placed upon that student. Becoming a teacher is like becoming a parent  it is no longer about what is best for you, it is about what is best for the child.

The best thing about teaching is seeing the pride on a child's face when they have become successful through hard work and dedication. This is only exceeded by the day that the child returns to show you their latest accomplishment, and to thank you for being an important part of his/her life.
