Distinguished Teacher Jacqueline Campos

What advice would you give to people considering a career in teaching?

Be patient! If you are frustrated you can bet your student is more frustrated, so try seeing the situation from their perspective. Always remember that you set the mood of the classroom. Enjoy your job and realize how lucky you are to be able to make a difference with so many children and families, most people never get this kind of opportunity to change lives.

What's the best thing about teaching?

Those tiny moments when you see a student understand something that just yesterday was beyond their grasp.
