Make sure that you love those students-no matter what! Look for one strength in each child or adult and build his or her education from there. And, trust me, sometimes that may be hard to find--but it is always there. Work with the bureaucracy to get what you need for those special children. The children are why you are becoming a teacher. Continue to learn and grow yourself. And the most important thing is to have fun everyday!

The best thing about teaching is when each child is able to celebrate something new that they have learned. An added bonus is when students return as well-rounded adults and thank you for being a part of their life.
