Distinguished Teacher Becky Arnott

When I came into teaching, I had many expectations of what I thought would make a great teacher. I thought I would be teaching my students many of the skills that are necessary to be successful in life. I was surprised to learn that throughout my journey as an educator, I would gain so much from my students. My students have taught me more about life, resiliency, patience, kindness, and trust, than I could ever teach them. As a new teacher, always remember there is something to be learned in almost every situation, and we do not always have all the answers.

The best thing about teaching is planting the seeds, and watching these young minds grow and develop into independent thinkers who are socially responsible.
