| Description |
NDNU offers a comprehensive range of graduate degrees and credential programs designed for
working professionals and aspiring educators with flexible hybrid and fully online delivery
formats. The programs emphasize social justice, social-emotional learning, cultural
competencies, and innovative use of technology including AI in education.
Credential Programs
Single Subject Teaching Credential (31 units, post-baccalaureate) — Preparing
Candidates for Middle and High School Teaching.
Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (33 units, post-baccalaureate) — Preparing
Candidates for Elementary School Teaching.
Education Specialist Credential with two levels:
(A) Mild/Moderate Support Needs
(B) Extensive Support Needs
All credentials include fieldwork and placement in over 30 public school districts.
Master’s Degree Programs
MA in Education — Emphasis on curriculum & instruction, student assessment, social
justice.
MA in School Administration (30-unit integrated program and in partnership with
SMCOE) — Focus on school leadership, management, finance, and policy assessment.
MA in Special Education — Designed to complement the Education Specialist Credential
and equip you with expertise to support diverse learners and promote inclusive K-12
environments.
MA in Educational Therapy — Trains professionals to assess and provide
individualized remediation and intervention strategies for students
with academic learning challenges, in clinics, schools, and private practice.
Program Features
Concurrent enrollment allowed in some credential and master’s programs.
Student-centered approach with small classes, personalized advising.
Integrates social-emotional learning, cultural competency, and effective AI use in
curriculum.
Flexible delivery: Hybrid and fully online formats available.
Fieldwork and student teaching placements are well-supported.
Tuition varies; credential courses are typically charged per unit ($595).
Admission requires a bachelor’s degree, a minimum GPA of 2.5, references, basic skills,
and subject matter competence as required by the CTC.
