In my opinion, what it takes to make a good science high school teacher is probably the same thing that it takes to be any good teacher, and that would be a passion for what you’re doing. Actually, that’s true of any job, not just teaching. And so, be willing to put the time in because it’s going to take time. It’s going to take time to learn when you are first starting. In addition to that, daily you just have to put time in for preparation for the individual classes. Expand your knowledge by getting outside sources, getting information from other teachers. There is a variety of things you should be spending your time doing to make yourself a good high school teacher.
