I try to stay ahead of all of the paperwork because there is a lot of paperwork. If you look at one day, you may have a stack of 5 different assignments to correct. I try to teach the kids how to grade it, as you can’t correct everything. You’ve got to realize that my first years teaching, I was trying to correct everything and, like I said, I was here until 5, 6 o’clock at night. From there, I would still go home and correct more. You need to really balance that out by picking and choosing what you need to really focus on instead of trying to correct every little thing. You need to decide what will benefit the students most. Correcting a test with them as a whole class may be a good learning tool.
